Back at our home ground this week to take on One Tree Hill in very wet and windy conditions at Grange.

B Grade – Once again showed great passing and movement and went against the breeze in the first half (it was a 2 goal breeze) the boys started well and created a few chances and defended very well. One Tree Hill got a goal from the side line taking avantage of the breeze and curled it into the back corner with a cross shot which evaded Angelo. We then gave them another soft goal after a defensive error and One Tree Hill made it 2 -0 as the first half came to a close. The boys created a couple of good chances to sneak one in the first half butr we didn’t put the ball in the back of the net. Second half they boys pushed One Tree Hill and created a few great scoring chances and slowly got control of the game. Not sure of the goal scorer i think it was Samson or Donni to make it 2 -1 and then the boys pushed really hard for the equaliser and the winner. Heard Donnie had a great chance to make it 2-2 but not to be. One Tree Hill ended up running out 2-1 winners. Overall another good game by the B Grade if you boys keep working hard the rseults will come you haven’t been beaten badly all year and are competive most games. Just need a couple of wins to get the confidence and belief n the team good luck for the second half of the year.

A Grade – In a massive game for both teams a win here could jump you into 3rd spot on the ladder. The boys were confident after a great showing last week and we started of very well in this game and got control of the midfield and the game in general. We created many chances against the wind and was unlucky not to go 1 – 0 up after a great bit of work by Jack but just couldn’t find the back of the net. As the half went on we got full control of the game and One Tree Hill had a couple chances one hitting the bar but that was about it. As the first half finished score was 0 – 0  i was very pleased with the effort and performance and was very confident in getting the result in the second half with the wind.  We started the second half like the first with full control of the game and created enough chances to score 4 -5 goals but the ball just wouldn’t go into the back of the net the One Tree Hill Keeper had a very good game and kept them in it. I lost count of the amount of corners we won and we had total control of the game but it was still 0 -0. Games like this can hurt you if you dont put your chances away and this was the cause we gave away a silly free kick in a dangerous are after a soft foul when we had control of the ball and One Tree Hill took there chance and scored a scrappy goal to take the lead 1 -0. We pushed for the equaliser and had a great opportunity to make it 1-1 with Matt Lyons and also Jack having a couple of chances saved by the keeper. As we pushed for the equaliser we made a bad decision with prob last kick of the game we went for a short corner when we should of put it into the box with the numbers we had and then we lost it and it fell to the One Tree Hill player on the half way line and he went onto score and made it 2 -0 and game over.  Thats Football it was by far our best game of the year and had total control of it but if you don’t put your chances away in can hurt you and it did today. Overall i’m very happy with the way we played we passed the ball around well and created and looked like a team that wants to play beautiful footall. Best on Gorund for the A Grade today was Joe M with a very solid game at the back. Boys if we keep playing like we have the last couple of weeks the results will come and you never know we string a few wins together and bet those teams above us and we could still achieve 2nd Spot.

Spewing the results went our way to with Adelaide Uni and Budapest both lossing and it would of put us 4th and only 4 points of top and 1 point of second.

Keep working Boy’s and it starts this week against Hahndorf away and then the gruge match against Budapest.
